Online Bidding Settings

The Online Bidding Settings area provides additional options to customize what guests will see on the Online Bidding site. Below we cover an overview of the various settings and options within Online Bidding Settings. Explore the Online Bidding Learning Guide to see these settings in action.

Access your Online Bidding Settings by clicking Project Settings in the Main Menu and selecting View Online Bidding Settings. Click Edit in the top right corner to make changes.

Auction Links:
This link is where your auction site is located. You can copy this link to send to guests that self-register, or to put in a browser so you can preview the site.

Bidding:

Allow Max Bidding - Max bidding will allow your guests to place the maximum amount they are willing to spend on a Package. The system will then bid on their behalf until they are outbid.

  • Example: John places a Max Bid of $100 on a Package. John is the current leading bidder at $10. Mary attempts to bid $20. The system will then immediately place a counter bid from John at the next highest increment, in this case $30. This will continue until a bidder goes beyond $100.

Use Online Bidding to Collect Donations - This will allow Online Bidding to accept cash donations from your Supporters. See Online Bidding: Donations for more information.

Display:

Project Display Name (40 character limit for most devices. Smaller devices have a 34 character limit) - Will be used to display the Project's name on the Online Bidding site, in email and text messages sent regarding Online Bidding, and on Display Boards.

Show Sponsor Tiles -  If selected, guests will see Sponsor Logos between Packages on Online Bidding. Enter a number to determine the number of Packages displayed between each logo. See Online Bidding: Setting Up Sponsors for more information.

Information to Display on Packages -

  • Item Donor Name(s): If enabled, the Online Bidding site will show a list of donors for the Items within a Package.
  • Value: If enabled, the market value will appear for each Package.
  • Bidding History (Regular Packages): If enabled, guests will see the names and/or bidder numbers of other guests who are bidding on the Package and the bid amounts they have placed. This will also display the names and/or bidder numbers and donation amounts on the Online Bidding Donation page.
  • Bidding History (Multi-sale Packages): If enabled, guests will see the names and/or bidder numbers of other guests who have purchased that multiple-sale Package.

Bidder Name Display -

  • Show bidder’s name and bidder number: If checked, guests will see the name and bidder number of other guests on the Auction Display, on the donation page, and in the bidding histories (if enabled).
  • Show bidder’s number: If checked, guests will see only the bidder number that was assigned to a Supporter on the Auction Display, on the donation page, and in the bidding histories (if enabled). If no bidder number is assigned, it will appear as “Anonymous”.

Browse Page Sort Order -

  • By Package Number: If selected, Online Bidding will sort the Packages in numerical, ascending order.
  • By Package Class: If selected, Online Bidding will sort the Packages by their Class in alphabetical order (Packages without Classes are always displayed first).

Video Embed:

You can have a video appear in your Engagement Center for your guests to view. This can be a livestream from your event, a short video detailing your mission, or anything in between.

Access Settings and Self Registration:
OBSettings4.jpg

Enable Public Access for Auction and Allow Bidding without Pre-Approval - Both of these options are specifically related to Supporters registering on their own for Online Bidding. See Online Bidding: Self-Registration for more information.

  • Enable Public Access for Auction: Bidders can create their own Online Bidding accounts by clicking Get Started on your bidding page. This should only be disabled if you will be manually enabling all bidders or checking them in with admissions through Go Time. Public access should always be enabled for virtual events.
  • Allow Bidding without Pre-Approval: Admins are not required to manually approve bidders before they can start bidding. When creating their own Online Bidding accounts, bidders must always provide credit card information - this setting does not change that. If you choose to disable this setting then you will need to use the Import Online Bidders tool to allow participants to bid.

Self Registration Invitations -

  • Do not automatically send self-registration invite: No automatic self-registration emails are sent to attendees
  • Automatically send self-registration invites immediately to attendees: Self-registration emails are sent immediately when a Supporter has an admission allocated.
  • Automatically send self-registration invites starting on: Sends self-registration emails automatically on a certain date that you choose.

Packages Currently Triggering Invitations - This will list all admission or sponsorship Packages that are currently set to trigger self-registration emails.

Preview Registration Invitation - Shows the email that guests receive when self-registering.

Send Invitation to All Un-Invited Attendees Now - Will immediately send the self-registration email to all guests that did not receive one.

Terms & Conditions:

Enter any Terms & Conditions into this area for your Online Bidding site. This is an optional setting and your View Terms button appears on the right hand side of your Welcome Banner for guests to see.
