Bid Sheet Settings
Bid Sheets are typically printed before your event, and have spaces available for bidders to record their name and/or bidder number for either set amounts or written in bids. Setting up your Bid Sheets is a two-step process where we first set the algorithm to determine the calculations for your Bid Sheets, and then we print them using a Package Report.
If you're using Online Bidding instead of traditional paper bid sheets, the Bid Sheet Settings still apply and will determine the automated bidding increments for the minimum bid, minimum raise, and guaranteed purchase price (buy now).
Important: The Bid Sheet Settings calculate the minimum bid, minimum raise, and guaranteed purchase price off the Package Value. If the Value is set to $0, then the Bid Sheet Settings will not be able to calculate these fields for you. |
These Bid Sheet Settings apply to all Auction Packages that have not been individually customized. If you want to customize the minimum bid, minimum raise, or guaranteed purchase price for a specific Auction Package, you can do so by editing that Package in View Packages and unlocking those fields. If the padlock is locked, that means the Package will use the calculations set in Bid Sheet Settings. If the padlock is unlocked, that means the Package has custom amounts.
Setting Up Calculations for Minimum Bid, Minimum Raise, and Guaranteed Purchase:
- Click Project Settings in the Main Menu, and select Edit Bid Sheet Settings.
- Choose if you want a Guaranteed Purchase Price and Increments.
- Guaranteed Purchase Price ensures a Buy it Now option is available for your Packages.
- Increments determine the amount that each bid is required to increase.
- If using Increments, select how the raise percentage is computed.
- Calculate the Raise Amount is a flat rate percent applied to all Packages based on the Value. This may result in some bid boxes being unused, but all the Packages have the same percentage Raises.
- Distribute the Increments computes the increment per Package evenly based on the guaranteed purchase price and minimum bid. This will result in all the Packages having the same number of bid boxes, but different percentage Raises.
- Determine if High Value Packages will be used. High Value Packages can be set to use a different metric when setting minimum bid, minimum raise, and guaranteed purchase price. You determine at what point a Package is considered High Value by entering a dollar value into the High Values field.
- Determine the Percentage and Nearest Rounded Dollar amount of the Minimum Bid, Minimum Raise, and Guaranteed Purchase Price. These numbers apply to the Value of the Package. If a Package has no Value, they will default to the minimum amount.
- If using High Value Packages, you will also have to calculate those percentages and nearest rounded dollar amounts.
- If using High Value Packages, you will also have to calculate those percentages and nearest rounded dollar amounts.
- The wizard will inform you that all Packages will be recalculated except for ones that have been manually “unlocked."
- Click Done to finish the process of setting up your bid sheets.
