Sponsors are often critical to your event success. From in-kind to presenting Sponsors, they give backbone to your event and proceeds. It makes sense then that we would want to highlight them where your attendees can see them. In Greater Giving Online you can set the website to automatically pull Sponsor data from your Supporters, and display them on your Project Website. Below, we cover how to fully enable a Sponsor to display on your Website.

Important: In order for a Supporter to appear on your Project Website as an active Sponsor, they must have a Sale of a Sponsorship type Package. If the Sponsorship is not being sold through Greater Giving, you will need to manually enter the Sale into the software. See Adding Packages: Sponsorship and Manually Adding a Sale

The video below shows how to setup the display of Sponsors on both Online Bidding sites and Project Websites. More information about Displaying Sponsors on an Online Bidding site.

Requirements for Displaying Sponsors:

  • Have the Website set to pull Sponsor Data.
  • Sponsors must have a Sale of a Sponsorship Package. If you are not tracking Sponsorship payments through Greater Giving or for in-kind sponsors you can use a $0 sale to trigger them to display on your Project Website. Explore how to Manually Add a Sale.
  • Mark them as Show on Project Website (recommended they also have an image).
  • Click Refresh Sponsors on your Manage Project Website screen after adding new Sponsors or updating their name or logo image.

Enable Sponsors on your Project Website:

  1. Click Manage Project in the Main Menu and select Manage Project Website.
  2. Click the Edit General Settings button.
  3. Scroll down to find the Sponsor Settings area and enable the toggle for Display Sponsors.
  4. Configure your settings:

  • Display dictates if the Sponsors Name, Logo (image) or Link appears. If Name is not selected, the Logo (image) becomes a hyperlink.
  • Headline is the header to the Sponsor area.
  • Display Order dictates if the Sponsors appear alphabetically or by sponsor level. If two or more Sponsors have the same level, they default to alphabetical.
  • Display Position dictates where on the website they will appear.
  • Display Duplicates indicates that if a single Sponsor has more than one Sponsor type package, they will be displayed at each appropriate level.

How to Upload a Sponsor Image:

  1. Click Supporters in the Main Menu, and select View Supporters.
  2. Search for the Sponsor using the Search bar.
  3. Click the Sponsor Name to edit them.
  4. Scroll down to the Supporter Basics area, and either Upload a New Supporter Image or use one from the Image Manager.
  5. Click the Save button.

Troubleshooting Tips:

Having trouble getting your Sponsors to show up on your Project Website pages? Below are a few of our top troubleshooting tips to figure out why your Sponsor isn't appearing on the pages.

  • Did you set up the Project Website to display Sponsors? Follow the first set of instructions above to ensure the Project Website General Settings are designed to display Sponsors. If you have the settings designed to show the Sponsors in a sidebar, make sure the Page Layout you've selected actually has the designated sidebar.
  • Have you clicked Refresh Sponsors since you added the Sponsors? You may just need to update the Project Website with the new Sponsor information by expanding Manage Project, going to Manage Project Website, and clicking the Refresh Sponsors link at the top of the page.
  • Did you sell the Sponsor a Sponsorship Package? Go to View Sales and search for the Supporter Name. If you do not see a Sale, you'll need to add a new sale. If the Package isn't a Sponsorship Package, you'll need to either edit the Sale and switch the Package or edit the Package and change it to Sponsorship Type.
  • Is the Project Website set to show only Sponsor logos? If you set the Project Website General Settings to display logos and not names, then the Sponsor must have a logo image saved to their Supporter record. The logo image and Sale must be under the same Supporter record. This is especially important with households - if the Sale is under John Smith within the Jane and John Smith Household, then the image must also be under John Smith, not the household.
